Welcome to Avoca Beach Picture Theatre Home of great cinema, the best in live entertainment and the friendliest little theatre around. We love to give you wonderful experiences, bringing a diverse range of quality entertainment for discerning adults. We are a family owned and run business four generations of the Hunter family since the Theatre began in the family's front garden in 1948. More than 65 years of family, and our patrons become part of our close knit Avoca Theatre family. We have been surprised and extremely honoured to have received a number of awards over recent years. Imagine our amazement when we were awarded Best Independent Regional Cinema in all of Australia in 2008 and then to have this great honour bestowed again in 2010, 2011 and 2012. 2012 also saw two Excellence in Tourism Awards and then in 2014, BBC named us in the Top 20 Cinemas of the world and the New York Men's Journal named us in the Top 10 in the world for our programming! Very humbling! We thank our loyal and lovely patrons for their encouragement, their support and their love.
