Casanova Oysters & Seafood

Casanova Oyster Farming Three generations of the Hemming family have been growing and processing oysters in the pristine waters of NSW. Keith Hemming started farming Sydney Rock Oysters on the Hawkesbury River from 1951. Andrew also farmed Sydney Rock Oysters on the Hawkesbury River from 1974 and in 1991 expanded the growing business with the purchase of Casanova Oysters, which was then located on the Eastern side of the Entrance Boat shed. With a rapidly growing Wholesale clientele, the business outgrew the premises and moved to an old butcher store at Long Jetty in 2000. In November 2013 Casanova Oysters & Seafood opened their current processing facility and shop front at 14 Clare-Mace Cres, Berkley Vale and invested in the acquisition of an Oyster Farm on the Karuah River. Casanova's Philosophy remains unchanged, a guarantee of the freshest of seasonal oysters and seafood available to the Central Coast. The Berkley Vale facility supply many of the restaurants, seafood shops, fisherman's co-ops and now general public along the Central Coast, from the Hawkesbury River to Newcastle with the freshest of oysters and seafood that our buyers source direct from farmers & fishermen on the Eastern seaboard of Australia. As with all fresh product, Oysters and seafood are seasonal in different water systems and Casanova has developed generational experience and bonds with their suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.
